Very few local councilor's seem to be bothered in saving local heritage and history. Very few are listening to locals or even taken notice of the neighborhood plan which states the building of wolverton railway have to stay and be reused if not wanted by the rail company on site at the time. One councilor is that set on more homes in the town that he could not careless about anything on site being kept. Mr.. marland has been very keen on the complete demolition and has seemed un able to listern to the point of save and reuse. He even denied that houses where being built opposite the drs saying the play ground in being updated!!. Other local councilor's when asked seem in favor of demolition of the historic buildings on site and don't seen to care that it is a conservation area. I must add this is not all councilor's some at wolverton town council are very much against the demolition of any part of the historic site. Local mps Ian and Marks seem to not be doing anything either emails and have been to them asking for them to step in and save the works but nothing again it seems to be a case its only wolverton works it don't matter if it goes and this is wrong. Why are these people not standing up for our cities heritage every one seem to jump through hoops and bend over backwards for Bletchley park but not the works this is wrong. It's about time people took a stand and said no save our heritage restore the buildings open the site up to the public lets be proud of our heritage educate the people of wolverton what the works was and is about WOLVERTON WORKS WAR MEMORIAL BLOCKED In 2013 a group of people started raising money for a memorial to honor those who worked at the works and lose their lives fighting in ww1. Knorr-Bremse were also on board and matched the final total raised and the memorial stone was made. Before the stone was even finished St Modwen started to refuse to have anything to do with it and refused to site the stone anywhere on the works site. Saying if the planning is granted then they will site the stone until then that's it it doesn't go on site. Knorr bremse followed suit started not wanting to work with the team in getting the stone sited. Sadly the stone is finished and now siting in a shed somewhere waiting to be sited but at each turn it has been blocked by St Modwen and Knorr-Bremse but why ? Why are the two companies acting so childish and unprofessional this has nothing to do with the demolition or saving the site it is about honoring those who died fighting for the country. When asked by a rail magazine St Modwen stated they had spoken to Mark Lancaster the local mp about the memorial stone. But Mark Lancaster knew nothing about the memorial stone until the magazine approched him asking why the stone has not been sited yet.
