I am writing to you today to petition you for your assistance.
My name is Aaron. I was born in Weston and have lived here all my life being raised and brought up since birth on Shrubbery Road. I trained as a stonemason since the age of 16 doing my five years apprenticeship with Wells Cathedral Stonemasons. I started my own company Moffatt Stoneworks in 2008 working from my yard at the Old Town Quarry Weston-super-Mare. There is a good chance that if you live in Weston and you have a period home I have worked on yours or your neighbour’s property. I am currently one of the only stonemason business operating in Weston and am committed to teaching this dying trade to the stonemasons of tomorrow.

I believe that Local authorities are attempting to constructively evict me. After a failed attempt to evict me from my plot they are now attempting to have my workshop removed, again I believe to make the tenancy untenable. A close friend who has operated as a blacksmith at the Quarry for approximately 20 years or more has already been evicted. The Old Town Quarry is the heart of our town and I take great pride in the fact that the quarry that built this town still has a stonemason operating from it today. Please help me to help this town and its historic architecture by signing this petition to save my workshop and business.
