Few days ago, I had learned CBS had cancelled both the Pittsburgh-set drama Watson and the comedy series DMV!

Watson had aired for two seasons from 2025 to 2026. The series was expected to end at 33 episodes after two seasons. The second season first aired on Monday as a backup when CIA, the spin-off of FBI wasn't ready for air amidst production delays, such as casting and production.

Watson is a reimagining of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and CBS is making it after the cancellation of Elementary in 2019. Watson was created by Craig Sweeney, who created two previous television series flops, The Code (2019) and Limitless (2015-2016), the poorly received film Star Trek: Section 31, which was nonimated for Golden Raspberry Awards, and also a writer on Medium (2005-2011), Common Law (2012) and Elementary (2012-2019), the latter was ironically also an adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes mythos.

Watson stars an ensemble cast, including Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, Eve Harlow as Dr. Ingroid Dean, Peter Mark Kendall as Drs. Stephens Croft and Adam and in the second season via a recurring role, Robert Carlyle as Sherlock Holmes.

Watson was about the adventures of Dr. John Watson, who had raised his medical practice by opening the Holmes Clinic at Pittsburgh, came one year after the apparent death of Dr. Sherlock Holmes. In Season 2, Sherlock Holmes played a prominent role in the series, who had emerged alive and Watson had doubts that he was quite the same man.

CBS had struggled in the ratings basement for Watson. They changed its slot three times, from Sunday to Monday and back to Sunday. The Monday slot came up because the series CIA has been experiencing production delays until its March 2026 debut. Watson eventually reverted to its Sunday night time slot just before its recent cancellation of the series.

Watson is a beloved television show and a new reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes story, so sign the petition to continue the show for another season!
