Hi Everyone,
We urgently need your help.
The City of Los Angeles, Metro, and Council District 6 are moving forward with plans to close the Balboa Metro Park & Ride on December 1st and convert it into a two-year RV storage/impound lot for abandoned RVs — directly next to 7 schools with nearly 6,000 students, the LA River, and Lake Balboa’s largest public park.
The Lake Balboa Neighborhood Council, along with countless residents and stakeholders, has repeatedly voiced strong opposition to this location — but the Mayor’s Office and Councilmember Imelda Padilla have pushed forward without meaningfully addressing community concerns.
We have provided multiple alternative sites that would avoid impacts to students, parks, wildlife, and nearby neighborhoods — yet none have been considered.
**📣 It’s time for the community to be heard.
Please join us for a peaceful rally at Balboa & Victory:**
Wed, Nov 19 – 7–9 AM and 3–5 PM
Sat, Nov 22 – 10 AM–12 PM
Sun, Nov 23 – 10 AM–12 PM
Your presence matters. Showing up in person is the strongest message we can send.
**📲 Please share the attached flyer widely —
on Nextdoor, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and with anyone you know.**
If you can’t join the rally, please email Larry Frank, Senior Advisor to Mayor Bass (larry.frank@lacity.org) with your concerns about the RV storage plan at Balboa & Victory.
If you have ANY media or press contacts, please pass this along. Public awareness is key.
Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to protecting our community.
