Save UB's Only Student-Run Queer Space, SU 373!

Save UB's Only Student-Run Queer Space, SU 373!
The Issue
At the beginning of the October, UB Student Union (SU) officials told us that the queer safe space in SU 373, which was established by an agreement with said officials, is going to be closed at the end of the month.
The deadline has been recently pushed back to the last day of classes, December 8th.
We view this as a massive blow to UB's queer community, and we need to stop this before it can come to fruition. UB may offer resources of its own, but in today's political climate, it is patently dangerous to be cutting down on queer spaces, and folding student-led initiatives into the University administration's operations only strips us of our already-limited freedom and puts queer students in danger, especially closeted students who might not want to take the risk of visiting UB's resources, which are plainly visible to passers-by.
What can I do to help?
Signing this petition helps show UB that this Queer Community Space is extremely important for students. We need them to understand that queer college spaces should come from the hearts and minds of queer students, and that student-run spaces bring an unmatched value to the university and the life of its students.
