Truong My Lan is has been sentenced to death by the current Vietnamese government.  This is a landmark verdict coming from Vietnam, especially against a high-profile international business woman well known within the international business circle. This is a blatant attempt to scapegoat a Chinese-Vietnamese woman who has worked within the confines of a national economy. Previous Vietnamese government purges of Chinese-ethnic migrants to Vietnam--which resulted in the boat people of the 1970s landing up in the shores of Hong Kong, wider Asia, and even the U.S.--resulted in huge suffering and upheaval.  We must not let this happen again.  We ask everyone to sign a petition condemning this unusual decision for execution.
