UPDATE: We’ve officially passed 1,650 signatures on the petition — and that’s something to be proud of. But we are not done yet. We need every voice we can get, so please keep signing and sharing.
For those just tuning in, this fight is about protecting three long-standing, locally owned businesses — Tomball Muffler & Brake,Tomball Animal Hospital & Hilltop Tool Rentals. The City of Tomball is trying to use eminent domain to take the land where Tomball Muffler and Tomball Animal Hospital is so they can build a new municipal complex, including City Hall, a police department, and a fire department. They are also trying to take, by Eminent Domain, Hilltop Tool Rentals. They want to put a retention pond where they are.
The problem? There are other places this could go. Taking away businesses that have served this community for decades, supported local families, veterans, and organizations — that’s just not right.
This is about more than buildings. It’s about standing up for our town, our history, and the people who built it.
Keep the momentum going. Sign. Share. Speak up. Old Town Tomball matters. Petition to: City of Tomball Officials, City Council, and Community Leaders
For decades, Tomball Muffler and Tomball Animal Hospital have been cornerstones of Old Town Tomball. These are not just businesses — they are family-owned establishments that have supported our community through generations.
They’ve shown up for Tomball — supporting local veterans, youth sports teams, charities, and organizations like the Lions Club. They’ve invested in people, not just profit. And now, they are facing being taken through eminent domain.
We understand that cities grow and change. But growth should not come at the cost of the very businesses that built and sustained this community.
Old Town Tomball has a character and history that cannot be replaced. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
We, the undersigned, are asking city leaders to:
Reconsider the use of eminent domain for this project
Explore alternative solutions that do not displace these businesses
Protect long-standing, community-rooted businesses that define Tomball
This is about more than two buildings — it’s about preserving the heart of our town.
If we don’t stand up now, we risk losing what makes Tomball special.
Please listen to your community.
Save Tomball Muffler. Save Tomball Animal Hospital. Save Old Town Tomball.
