On 22 February, the Cottesloe Council will be asked to vote on this hideous concrete district sized skate park in the heart of the John Black Dune Park, one of the few remaining green corridors in Cottesloe and home to abundant wildlife. Funding has yet to be sourced, and funding to revegetate the remaining park does not even appear to be on the agenda!  

The overall footprint of the skate park will be 70m x 40m and the Town admits it could be extended, but it has not yet developed its Master Plan! 

The Melbourne firm, Convic, claims the skate park will occupy  'a vestige of relatively underutilised space', but in reality it will rob the park of almost 3.000 square metres of bush, which is home to valuable wildlife.
