THANK YOU DONALD BLACK - SO GLAD WE HAVE FOUND YOU!
The Friends of John Black Dune Park are so pleased to have the support of John Black's grandson, Donald. The most exciting 'post' so far, is this heartfelt comment from John Black's grandson, who obviously shares our passion for the environment and for his grandfather's memory. The 'tiny park' is only tiny because the council allowed the tennis club to 'eat into' it. We can't make it tinier still. We need this green corridor and this precious ecosystem more than ever, with all the high-rise development proposed around it.
Donald Black expresses it best:
'Preserving this all too small remnant of the flora, and associated fauna, that once covered the Cottesloe dunes should be the priority. The impact of the proposed skate park will inevitably irreversibly damage whatever vegetation remains outside the concrete area. This tiny park was named after my grandfather and the proposed skate park is just another example of history being air-brushed.'
