Dearest Friends and lovers of wildlife, apologies for not being around for some weeks, we are still FIGHTING THIS development and thank you for everyone who has signed and shared our petition. Please do write to your MP's and bodies etc below, we need to saturate them! The Planning Ombudsman has been written to by a local resident outlining clearly the maladministration regarding fighting for justice over the Stables Land. I will get back to you asap as soon as we hear from them - please pray/send out good vibes and send love - that they agree and see the injustice over the past 18 months and STOP this development legally.
20th March - We heard that Bristol Council Inspectorate rejected the 9 dwelling building design but sadly the 8 dwelling scheme that Lewisham Council agreed by 2 votes out of 2 people voting and 2 people abstaining on 14th December - is still awfully in place. The x8 dwelling is almost exactly the same as the x9 dwelling construction in terms of complete disaster to the embankment wildlife and total loss of trees, rare animals, rare bats, birds and hedgehogs etc.
So we still have to overturn this decision totally.
GOOD NEWS - The Brockley Society has joined the fight by publishing it in their latest newsletter out now - Finally! I hear you cry, the fight has been going on since May 2023 but thank you all who have read, signed and shared the article and petition.
MORE WIERD NEWS - The contractors have found a huge water pipe that they cannot move - wierd - that such a huge pipe has been overlooked I hear you say.
PLEASE WRITE TO: Our new mayor Brenda Dacres to put pressure on them, Vicky Foxtrot, or any of the other local councillors seen below - especially those who voted FOR THIS destruction in the first place!

Appeal Ref: APP/C5690/W/22/3398260 - LAND TO THE REAR OF 14-48 GEOFFREY ROAD, LONDON SE4
BOTH the 9-dwelling scheme and the 8-dwelling scheme cause unacceptable loss of tress and negative impact to the BCA (the screenshotted paragraph above)
unacceptable loss of trees; loss of bat habitat; unaffordable houses (therefore zero contribution to the borough's plan); planning conditions that the council doesn't have the means to enforce (bin collection, car club, traffic etc.).
LEWISHAM: “Launching our 2024 Climate Emergency Action Plan
Today we launched Lewisham’s Climate Emergency Action Plan 2024, a refresh of our strategic plan for action that reflects the scale and urgency of meeting the ambition for Lewisham to be net zero carbon by 2030.
This plan covers how to protect our communities now and into the future by anticipating and responding to changing climate impacts like heatwaves, flooding, storms, as well as how it will impact cost-of-living for residents.
Taking action has the potential to make all our lives better - giving us cleaner air, warmer homes, and healthier lifestyles, creating new opportunities for jobs, and making Lewisham a fairer place to live and visit.”
Again, how can Lewisham Council celebrate and boast being the first of the London boroughs to recognise a climate emergency, and talk about plans which reflect the scale and urgency of meeting net zero carbon by 2030 when it approves a scheme that only harms biodiversity, and does nothing to protect our communities, or make all our lives better, or gives us all cleaner air to breath.
Thank you for keeping up the fight with us! Please share and spread the word
Blessings and love the green spaces within us all
Joy :-) x
