The Spanish River High School Theatre Department is currently at risk of being significantly reduced due to staffing and enrollment concerns. This program is something many students, myself included, have built a major part of our high school experience around.

For many of us, theatre is more than just a class or an extracurricular. It’s a community where students learn how to work together, gain confidence, take on responsibility, and express themselves in ways they can’t in other spaces. It’s also where many students have found a real sense of belonging in high school.

We understand that schools have to make difficult decisions, but limiting this program would have a real impact on both current and future students.
