Save The Snipes' Diverse Wildlife

Save The Snipes' Diverse Wildlife
The Issue
There is a Planning Application put forward that will have a dramatic impact on the wildlife of The Snipes, the common near Stourport-on- Severn. The plan is for "up to 145 dwellings, public open space, landscaping, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and vehicular access point".
Clearly this will eat up a significant area of The Snipes, but the disturbance caused to the wildlife as the building work goes on and traffic increases will also have a major impact.
I object to the application on the basis of the damage done to the natural habitat of the Snipes, and I need your support via this petition to put a stop to continued destruction of our environment. There are hundreds of nesting Skylarks and it is a feeding and nesting site for many other birds, including Peregrine Falcon. Plant life will also be affected and reduced area for locals for dog walking and recreation.
This is a far from exhaustive list of flora & fauna on The Snipes:
Foxgloves
Laburnum
Yarrow
Bramble
Thistle
Poppy
Coltsfoot
Evening Primrose
Dandelion
Ragwort
Bluebells
Snowdrop
Rose Bay Willowherb
Honeysuckle
Dog Rose
Cow Parsley
Wild Green Orchid
Buttercup
Forget-Me-Not
Germander Speedwell
Dead Nettle
6 Spot Burnet Moth
Painted Lady Butterfly
Marbled White Butterfly
Small Copper Butterfly
Large White Butterfly
Dragonflies
Damselflies
Parasol mushroom and many other fungi
Newts
Hawthorn

Skylark
