📣 PETITION TO SAVE THE PENDLETON CANDY COMPANY DECORATIONS

We, the undersigned residents, visitors, and supporters of Pendleton, SC, strongly oppose the town’s recent requirement for Pendleton Candy Company to remove its exterior decorations and return the building to a “basic” appearance.

Pendleton Candy Company is more than a store—it’s a local treasure and a destination. Its colorful and whimsical decorations bring smiles to children and families, attract tourists, and contribute to the vibrant charm of downtown Pendleton. The eye-catching exterior reflects the fun, family-friendly spirit of the business and draws in countless visitors who then shop, dine, and explore other parts of town.

Requiring the removal of these beloved decorations:

 • Hurts local business by reducing visibility and foot traffic.

 • Negatively impacts tourism by removing a well-known photo and visitor stop.

 • Disappoints families and children who are drawn to the joyful storefront.

 • Undermines Pendleton’s small-town charm and appeal.

We believe that encouraging creative, tasteful, and community-positive storefronts enhances Pendleton’s character, not detracts from it.

We respectfully urge the Town of Pendleton to reconsider this decision and allow Pendleton Candy Company to keep its iconic exterior decor.
