The shutdown has made it difficult to contact some veteran agencies in the Bay Area who are impacted by the shutdown. On November 13, the San Mateo County Veterans Commission is holding their 10th Annual Veterans Luncheon. I believe the tickets are now on a waitlist basis only. If you are going, please note that a variety of Bay Area leaders will be in attendance including Congressman Liccardo who has already asked DeCA what their plans are, as well Congressman Kevin Mullin who has not yet offered any support. If you are going to the luncheon, please take the time to ask our local leaders how they plan to address this issue for our military community.
