It's been over 24 hours since we started this campaign and it is so appreciated and amazing to see so many people sign our petition. We have a paper petition as well that has gotten several signatures so at last count, all together, we have 29 signatures. This is great!

We have gotten some push back from a few folks, claiming what I've said here isn't true, getting stuck on me saying it was for profit, despite the council not actually saying it was for profit, but I believe that's more of a misdirection than anything, to deflect and distract from the real point.

Some additional information as to why this is vital; Manderson have 4 council members and one mayor. Two of the 4 council members think this is a good idea, that selling the property is a good idea (if they're for selling the property after so much about the town not having enough money, it stands to reason that the council believes it would be more beneficiary to move the park and sell the land, rather than just maintain the park as it is; therefore, profit). 1 council member was not present at the time, but even if its two and two, the mayor is the tie breaker vote and he is the brother of the council member that thinks its a good idea to see how much we can get for the park. Questions of bias come into play. This is not something we can just wait and see about, if the council decides to move on this, the community won't know it till it's too late to say anything.

We'll keep going and keep bringing awareness to this "discussion" and thank you to everyone who has signed and shared! We appreciate you so much for putting your voice to help us protect our park.
