Following the recent resolutions passed by the cities of San Mateo and Millbrae, we’re pleased to announce that as of this update, Burlingame and Foster City have also passed resolutions supporting our cause! Other Peninsula city councils are considering similar actions.
This strong support from local cities, agencies, and legislators is remarkable. We have received steadfast commitment from individual councilmembers who have recognized the negative effects of the therapy pool’s closure.
Many individuals have related how the Mickelson therapy pool helped them or their loved ones heal, exercise, and grow stronger. If you have a story to share and comments about the permanent closure, please reach out to:
Sutter Health Corporate Interim President/CEO James Conforti and the Sutter Health Corporate Board of Directors
2200 River Plaza Drive
Sacramento, CA 95833
It’s been a year since the therapy pool was permanently closed by Sutter and two years from the date it was closed due to COVID. We are determined to get the pool reopened or have Sutter Health reimburse the community for the amount originally donated—$7.2 million in today’s money—to finance a new facility.
So what’s next? We are reaching out to other cities as well as medical professionals and various organizations requesting their support. We are also expanding our press coverage on the issue. Our website at warmwaterwellness.org is regularly updated with our activities and other resources.
Lastly, we absolutely could not do this without your support. Thank you so much to those of you who recently donated to our non-profit. As with all new ventures, we have incurred many expenses. There is a donation button on the home page of our website. Your contributions of any amount are much appreciated.
