As mentioned on our homepage, our goals have evolved. In addition to our primary focus of encouraging Sutter Health to reopen the Mickelson therapy pool, we are also lobbying for more facilities to meet the present and future needs of the community.
Our threefold mission is to:
- Convince Sutter Health to reopen the Mickelson Center
- Work with local entities to create new private or civic-run warm water therapy pools
- Collaborate with other local aquatic facilities with moderately suitable accommodations to make their indoor pools available for therapeutic use
These goals will improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable members of our community, and it’s up to all of us to make them happen.
Our website includes:
- an explanation of the detrimental actions taken by Sutter Health that have affected and continue to affect so many
- resources for anyone interested in promoting warm water therapy pools
- many letters and other articles supporting our cause. The information will be updated as news and other events occur.
It has been over two years since Sutter closed the Mickelson therapy pool and a year since our movement started with a petition on Change.org. We have worked hard and garnered much support from local civic leaders, organizations, pro bono attorneys, and state legislators. We hope you’ll agree that a great deal has been accomplished.
We have included a place for donations on our website. Expenses have accumulated over the past year as this movement has gained momentum, and we are now at the point where these can no longer be borne by our all-volunteer board. We envision becoming a strong lobbying force for community therapy pools.
We are most grateful for any help that you can provide. Warm Water Wellness Inc is a registered non-profit organization, so any donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Please note: our group does not receive any monies donated through Change.org. These donations solely support the Change.org organization.
Our passion and our efforts will continue until anyone in need can have access to the healing waters of a therapy pool.
