Unlawful journeys from Alappuzha to Thrissur district caused internal head injury on the elephant. The forehead of the elephant smashed at the concrete beam of the Kalamassery bridge and the elephant was not attended by any veterinarian at the spot and the elephant continued its painful journey from 3am and reached choondal Mekkavu temple at around 9am. Then the elephant was paraded at a temple from 11am to 8pm yesterday. At that temple veterinarian issued fake fitness certificate and helped to parade that elephant. Police, forest and revenue officials of alappuzha, ernakulam and thrissur are yet to initiate any enquiry on this type of organized crime against this heritage animal. Now the elephant, is likely to move other festival destinations with fake fitness certificate.
