Thanks to our efforts, “saving”  (*as in not totally outright destroying) the Tree  was mentioned by the developers for the FIRST TIME  in this process. 

In the newest plans presented to City Council the developers included intention to “save the tree” & include a public access pocket “park”.  We appreciate that the developers listened to this one concern of the district. While encouraging, this does not guarantee the Tree will be saved. 

During this effort, we have heard many stories of developers promising to save trees - only to clear them once control of the property is gained. 

 We can’t claim  a victory today, but the “change” to the developers plans shows that your voice MATTERS! 

Due to the inspiring testimony of those in opposition and other issues,  City Council deferred the vote on the development until August 21. 

What does this mean for the tree? 

For now, we still have her. 

As for us - We plan to take a moment to regroup, then get back to work.
