Tennessee Tech wishes to get rid of the French and German course due to a low level of student registration. There are 72 French companies operating in Tennessee. There are 112 German companies operating in Tennessee as well. French companies hire 12,915 Tennesseans, and have invested over $1 billion in the state. German companies have employed over 17,000 Tennesseans and added $5.5 billion to the states economy. If these classes are taken away student not only lose educational opportunities but career possibilities as well.
