The Fairgrounds Racetrack in Nashville holds cherished memories for countless residents. It has been a beloved part of our community's heritage, hosting thrilling races and drawing crowds from every corner of Nashville and beyond.   Since 1904, families, friends, and racing enthusiasts have gathered here, not merely for the sport, but for a shared sense of tradition and community.

However, this historic racetrack is now at risk of being lost to redevelopment, a fate we cannot allow for such an integral piece of Nashville's identity. Its closure would not only erase a century-old cultural site but also deal a severe blow to the local economy. The racetrack supports numerous jobs and contributes significantly to local businesses, from hotels to restaurants, especially during major racing events.

Moreover, this venue serves as a vital training ground for aspiring racers, nurturing local talents who may one day represent Nashville on a global stage.   Many famous NASCAR racers began their careers at this track.

We urge the Nashville city council and stakeholders to recognize the hsitoric, cultural and economic significance of the Fairgrounds Racetrack.
