IMPORTANT NOTICE —  On Tuesday, June 18th 2025, Riverside County Senior Planner Elizabeth Mora-Rodriguez informed Save TED that the applicant of GPA 240039 has officially WITHDRAWN from consideration. This proposal would have removed more than 170 acres at Los Caballos Rd & Hwy 79 South from the Temecula Equestrian District to be zoned Retail Commercial. Thanks to YOUR voices, your passion, and your dedication, we’ve protected a vital part of our rural character—for now.

The fight’s not over! Galway Downs is now requesting to change their zoning as well as Conditional Use Permit (CUP) so that they can expand their uses to include a permanent concrete amphitheater for concerts, fairs, and music festivals, with a noise exemption on weekends to allow amplified sound until 12AM. The CUP request includes a daily weekday increase in vehicles from a few hundred to 4,600 vehicles. Even more alarming is the request to increase Peak Operations/ Holiday Weekends vehicles from 2,400 vehicles to 8,100 vehicles per day.
