Save The Equalizer (2021) From Cancellation
The Issue
As many of you know, the hit CBS television show, The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah has been apparently canceled by the network after five seasons.
The season five finale will now serve as a series finale, given the fact that there are no plans for this show to be shopped. However, this is our chance to save an amazing and spectacular show.
The Equalizer follows Robyn McCall, a former CIA operative who uses her extensive skills to help those and need, as well as seeking redemption and using her background to secretly help others who have nowhere else to return.
Taken from the TV Series Finale website, the show is placed at number 12 in the latest rating averages (total viewership) between Fire Country and FBI: Most Wanted, and bested S.W.A.T. and NCIS: Sydney. It also totaled 4.263 viewers, as well as having 0.258 in the 18-49 demographic.
Also, taken from TVLine, season-to-date wise, the show averaged 6.1 million total viewers, down some 25% from its season 4 audience.
The Equalizer's cancellation, on the other hand, also follows CBS's decision not to go through a spinoff led by Titus Welliver.
The whole premise in the show is compared to the cancellation of the show itself, as it has no network or streaming service to be shopped, and also has the chance to seek redemption as well, and to help get the closure that this show needs for its sixth and potentially final season.
We cannot let this cancellation happen. Like the rest of the elements of the show (helping others, support network, justice & vigilante action, etc.), we can use all of the elements to save The Equalizer from cancellation, as well as get the show saved.
We believe that with enough support from fans all over the world, the network and producers can open their eyes and recognize the show's value, as well as its cohesive, dynamic storytelling, and the thrills-and-chills of it all.
