Have your say on the Yan Yean Road (Stage 2) Environment Effects Statement
What are we doing?
We're upgrading Yan Yean Road between Kurrak Road and Bridge Inn Road. This project aims to improve safety and traffic flow in the area.
What is an Environment Effects Statement (EES)?
In October 2018, the Minister for Planning decided an EES is required for Yan Yean Road (Stage 2) Upgrade.
An EES is a formal process that looks at the potential environmental, social, cultural and economic impacts of a project and how they will be managed. As part of the process community will have an opportunity to review and comment on key documents.
In addition to the EES process in Victoria, the Australian Government has confirmed this project will be a controlled action under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity 1999 Act (EPBC Act) due to matters of national environmental significance.
What are draft Scoping Requirements?
The EES draft Scoping Requirements are the specific environmental matters we need to investigate and document.
Have your say
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) have released the Yan Yean Road EES draft Scoping Requirements and they will be open for public comment until Friday 17 May 2019. Your feedback will help inform the technical studies.
Visit Planning Victoria to view the draft Scoping Requirements and the EES referral and decision.
