To North Lanarkshire Council Officials and Councillors,

We, the undersigned, are very disappointed in the Council's decision to reject the CAT application by Cumbernauld Cottage Trust to buy the Cottage and turn it into a Community Hub, with cafe, bar and community spaces. 

• This area of Cumbernauld needs and wants a community and social space. 
• We want a 15-Minute Neighbourhood, and not have to go to the Town Centre to socialise.
• This is Cumbernauld's heritage, and it is important to residents of Cumbernauld.
• A Community Hub in the Cottage would improve mental health by reducing isolation and loneliness.
• It will also encourage use of the adjacent Fields (Cumbernauld House Park) for walking and other outdoor pursuits, which benefits both physical and mental health in the community.

We want and deserve to have friendly, healthy community spaces that support the local community, reduce isolation, and provide us with local space for community projects and socialisation.

We, as local residents, workers and visitors, support the Cumbernauld Cottage Trust's CAT appeal and urge our elected representatives to make the decision that their constituents actually want.
