The Issue

Texas Oncology has quietly announced the closure of its Cleveland, Texas clinic, effective August 31, 2026. This decision will devastate rural cancer patients in Liberty County and surrounding areas.
Many patients utilizing this clinic are elderly, low-income, or manage severe disabilities—including stroke survivors—that prevent them from driving. Forcing vulnerable patients to travel 45 minutes to over an hour away for a grueling 4-hour infusion is medically irresponsible and logistically cruel. It places an unfair, exhausting burden on patients and their volunteer drivers.
We refuse to be treated as mere line items on a corporate balance sheet. We demand that Texas Oncology and The US Oncology Network immediately halt the closure of the Cleveland, TX facility and maintain continuity of local life-saving care."
