UPDATE ON OUR HIGH COURT MATTER

Dear Supporter, I would like to share with you the following update: 1. Our High Court Application has been OPPOSED by Secona Freight Logistics & the Cato Manor Cemetery Association 2. eThekwini Municipality, KZN Environmental Affairs & the Heritage Agencies (AMAFA, SAHRA) have FAILED TO RESPOND to the interdict application. 3. Water Affairs including the national Minister has indicated they will ABIDE by the order of the Court. Once they indicated they would oppose, the Respondents had a duty to file ANSWERING AFFIDAVITS setting out details of their opposition. The time for filing of answering affidavits by Secona & the Association has lapsed . Attorneys for the Association (GOVENDER PATHER & PILLAY) have agreed to submit affidavits by Wednesday next week. Attorneys for Secona (OMAR & ASSOCIATES) refuse to respond to our request to agree on a date for filing of their affidavit, claiming they are busy with other matters. Our opponents will more than likely drag this matter out for as long as it takes, and most probably attempt to abuse the court processes for their own good. Government departments will more than likely be just as lethargic, with no sense of urgency in the matter. These are attributes and traits we have gotten so used to. We've also gotten used to serious Human Rights Violations, Corruption, Nepotism, Racism.... the list goes on. But this is no reason to be despondent or apathetic. We must still stand up and be counted, and speak out against these injustices. So, once again, THANK YOU for being one of those very few people who have stood up and spoken out - with me - against this cruel and unjust attack on our heritage and history. thank you Kuben
