

The photo above is of a Class 150 diesel train in Wales, these trains are just as old as the soon-to-be-withdrawn Class 455 EMU trains and one is preserved on the Watercress line!
If a Class 150 unit can be preserved, it makes perfect sense to also preserve the Class 455 units.
I (the petition starter) have paid at least £10,000 in Oyster card fares to travel on the Class 455 units as part of my commuting over the years and over £1,000 has been contributed in promoting this petition.
The Class 455 trains are due to be taken out of service imminently, with the Farewell Tour this coming Sunday, so we urgently need as much support as possible.
I believe one unit is currently stored at Eastleigh but the future of these trains on the whole is in jeopardy.
