Little did I know that building my tiny travel home on wheels would take me to a journey of profound awakening. I was travelling more on highways in Quebec and this is when I noticed the substantial amount of animals laying dead by the road. Digging into some research, I found out that Quebec does not have a plan or budget for old roads or new developing roads that ensure the safety of animals. Research shows that placements of fences reduce the risk of death for small animals by 54% and for larger animals a reduction by 83%. Our transport ministry needs to know that we are willing to use our tax paying money to save and protect our animals. Animals are at risk because more roads are developing quickly and they are facing many challenges due to global warming and deforestation. Please sign this petition asking our gouvernement to enforce that animals are protected by providing old and new roads with fences, under passes and bridges. Our animals in Quebec deserve citizens that speak up for their lives. Extinction is happening in rapid numbers and simple solutions should be expected to be a priority of our transport ministry.
