Hello everyone, 

I just wanted to add a quick update. After sending an email to the building's owner, Michael Mouron of the Capstone Development Partners, I have created an open dialogue regarding the struggles that he has had and the potential fate of the building. From his perspective, he is between a rock and a hard place and purchased the building to restore and save it. When the city rejected a deal for it to be their new police station and had little communication with community partners and developers, he made the case that the last resort was to demolish this building for the parking lot. He also listed some historical buildings that he has saved and some factors of his portfolio.

I cannot say how truthful his response is, as I am not privy to much of this information, nor have I been involved in any of these conversations with community partners in the past. With this increased dialogue, it means that he is swayable, considering I can provide a solution. This petition I am going to provide this to the City, JS Knight, and the University of Arkon to generate extra opportunities hopefully. 

If you know someone who might be interested in investing in the community, have connections with local leaders and officials, or can at least get out the word, you will be doing local Akronites a great service.
