We’ve made a breakthrough in our efforts to save Taylor Regional Hospital, Hawkinsville GA. In response to our public document urging elected officials to declare a state of emergency the city of Hawkinsville gave a bridge loan to the hospital, allowing them to make back pay to employees who had been working for periods without pay. Local vendors have still not been paid and the hospital’s emergency room has not been restored to full service indicative of remaining instability.
There has been no communication or transparency with the community with reliance upon their private hospital status.
WE STILL HAVE WORK TO DO: Urge lawmakers to prioritize patients not profits.
REGULATE PRIVATE HOSPITALS TO PREVENT THEM FROM TREATING PATIENTS AS COMMODITIES. Keep sharing, keep calling, keep fighting.
