Hi
The  Town Hall Meetings Monday, July 06, 2026 were very effective in bringing attention to the growing concerns over the status of Taylor Regional Hospital. We got to present information and ask the County Commissioner the question,  who is responsible for notifying the public of the inability for (TRH)to handle all medical emergencies. The answer was “it is TRH.” When asked if the county is actively seeking information on the TRH status, the answer was yes.
The same was presented to the city manager and committee in an over flowing room full of attendees. It was impactful!  So it’s just a matter of waiting to see which direction this goes.  The reason our focus has change from saving (TRH) to saving the public is because of the risk of seeking healthcare at an emergency room that is not in full operation. No imaging, no labs which are critical to run a functioning emergency room.  Without them heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, even pneumonias and other serious conditions cannot be properly diagnosed. Transfers are time sensitive and can be costly for patients.  We’re seeking transparency and a sustainably plan.  The public has legal rights to  accessible healthcare.   Continue to urge elected officials and hospital leaders to protect our access to healthcare.  Unity is power.
