I want to... Save my country for myself, my neighbours, my descendants, my neighbours' descendants; for every Kittitian and Nevisian whose ancestors' blood soaked and fertilised the soils of St. Kitts and Nevis. Save my country from giving away very limited land and coastal resources to people who already have so much, when we comparatively have so little. Save my country from giving away its culture, peace, place of belonging and freedom. I want the Special Sustainability Zones Act to be repealed.

This is important to me because I love myself, my family, my friends, my people, my country and my freedom. This is important to every Kittitian and Nevisian because this story has already played out before in history. It is important because we value our freedom and our way of life. We can determine our own Destiny. Our ancestors suffered so that their descendants may have that Destiny. This is important because I want to see what Kittitians and Nevisians of blood, make of St. Kitts and Nevis. St. Kitts and Nevis, is not Dubai. St. Kitts and Nevis is St. Kitts and Nevis, and it is for Kittitians and Nevisians. This is not to exclude any person who consider themselves Kittitian or Nevisian and genuinely love our people and participate in our culture as an equal.

We are risking too much. We have allowed the government to determine our collective futures for too long, trusting in them, blindly, to keep our best interests at heart. In doing so we have given away our land, our citizenship and so much potential for equal growth of all citizens. I think it is time that we did things differently and determined our own futures. It is time for us to have a say in how things are done in our country. It is beyond time to leave colonialism and it's mentality behind. I want to see an SKN Destiny where all of St. Kitts and Nevis is a Special Sustainability Zone for all Kittitians and Nevisians. This country is the only place on earth that we have as our own and a lot has been given away, sold, and squandered.

We were the first English colony (1624), first French colony (1625), we had the first citizenship by investment programme (1984), many sad firsts. Let us be the first Caribbean country to truly determine our own future. We can do this by being the first nation that is regularly consulted by government for ideas and consulted before major decisions are made, such as this SSZ Act. A true democratic nation that leads and guides it's government. The true power of any nation is in it's people and what they allow and believe. Money has value because we believe it so, the government has power because we allow it. The same is true in repealing this Act and shaping our nation ourselves. Please join me in charting this new course and saving our country by signing this petition in favour of repealing the Special Sustainability Zones Act.
