Save Solar Incentives, Empower Communities, and Keep Renewable Energy Affordable

Save Solar Incentives, Empower Communities, and Keep Renewable Energy Affordable
The Issue
Dear Senators,
I’m writing to urge you to protect and strengthen federal incentives for solar energy. These incentives are not just about climate policy—they are tools of economic empowerment, particularly for lower- and middle-income families who stand to benefit the most from affordable, renewable energy.
In the D.C. area, Advanced Solar—a company of over 160 employees—has been a standout example of what’s possible when public policy and private innovation align. With 3100+ installations, we’ve seen firsthand how targeted incentives can spark private investment, grow small businesses, and bring real relief to households struggling with high utility bills.
Advanced Solar has made a name for itself by doing what many said was too difficult: delivering clean energy solutions to working-class neighborhoods. By streamlining installations and offering creative financing options, they’ve opened the door to solar ownership for families who were traditionally shut out of the market. That’s real equity in action—enabled by smart policy.
Beyond individual savings, Advanced Solar is building energy capacity where it's needed most. Their projects don’t just reduce emissions—they lighten the grid load, cut peak demand, and add resilience. Every panel installed is a long-term investment in a more stable, affordable, and secure energy future.
Cutting back on solar incentives now would put that progress at risk. It would stall momentum, suppress job creation, and close the door on energy savings for thousands of families who are just starting to benefit.
I urge you to preserve and expand these crucial incentives. They’re working—and Advanced Solar’s success in the D.C. area proves it.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Hayes
