Tomorrow, Tuesday 5/14/24 is the last West Covina Unified School District Board Meeting before West Covina High School Class of 2024 Graduation!!
This is the last meeting we have to show, In person, that we as a community support Samantha in having a seat!!
Please show support by choosing to complete 1 or more options below!
Ways you can show support at the meeting:
- Be Present!
- Sign the Volunteer Attendance Seat with your name
- Cause: Save Sam A Seat!
- Wear Green (Bleed Green!!! I'm also handing out Sam's famous green butterflies to our grateful supporters!!)
- Speak to the Board Members
- Blue Sheets Can be filled out right before the public portion of the meeting at 6PM ***Available at 5:50 at WCUSD office***
- Speaking time is limited to 3 minutes, but you don't have to use this whole time frame.
- Come and say who you are (Student/Community Member), and why Samantha deserves a seat!

When: Meeting is open to the Public at 6PM, Public Speaking portion will be more around 6:30-6:45PM.
If you wish to speak then the Blue Sheet must be submitted at 6PM
I, Jade Vuong, Will be at the District Building Early on Tuesday (5PM) if anyone would like to come early and discuss with me, or even coordinate speaking WITH me!!
I will also be giving out Sam's Famous Green Butterfly Clips, to show appreciation for your support. You'll find me wearing Green Butterflies in my hair, Please come up and say hi !

"Hi my name is XXX , and I want to bring awareness to West Covina Unified School District's, Superintendent Emy Flores's, decision to not give Samantha Vuong a Seat at her Class of 2024 Graduation. She was the ASB Class of 2024 Vice President for 3 years, and an extremely involved student on campus with clubs, sports, and events. She deserves a seat because XXX."
I understand that this decision frustrates and distresses many students and community members, saying how this isn't fair and not right for administration to make this decision. I have even received support from students for protest against this decision.
Despite current research and community standing, They continue to cite internal sources and not reach out to specialized groups and resources concerning this matter (I have also previously provided this research to them).
This is the LAST chance at a Public Board to show them our community values for this graduation ceremony.
I genuinely appreciate the support from everyone along this journey, Please if you are available attend this meeting with us to show our Samantha / Sammie support once again.
