Save Rare Disease Patients’ Lives –- Stop Mass Deportation

Save Rare Disease Patients’ Lives –- Stop Mass Deportation
The Issue
This is a petition drafted by an MPS VI patient living in the State of New Jersey.
The United States has been a country that has brought hope to many people for many years, saving lives by providing humanitarian aid or treatment for diseases. I am one of those who was saved by this country. However, a problem arose during President Trump's first term. His mass deportation plan sought to deport a woman named Isabel Bueso back to Guatemala. She has the same disease as I do. Fortunately, she was one of the lucky ones and received help from Rep. DeSaulnier, who issued a private bill for her. Mr. Biden signed it, granting her and her family permanent resident status.

If this situation worsens, many patients will lose their basic human rights — the right to live. The benefits of mass deportation are far outweighed by the harm it causes. No one should cause a humanitarian disaster on the land where our Founding Fathers fought for freedom. I was born in China, a country with no human rights. The national healthcare system does not cover medications for rare diseases. This is why I am in this country. I decided to fight for the right to live with dignity for patients because I know what it is like to live without dignity and freedom. We were born unfairly without a healthy body. We just want to live in a fair environment where healthy people treat us as normal humans.
This is the time for us to fight. In just nine days, our President has covered this country with fear and tears. No one is illegal on this land stolen from Native Americans. In two World Wars, this country provided many asylum opportunities for survival.
Trump, how dare you?! Questioning foreign immigrants as enemies. The H1B visa has provided many intelligent people to help the U.S. develop technologies, and undocumented migrants have filled empty jobs that no one else wants to take.
We should all fight against these anti-immigration policies. Protect the honor and pride of the USA.
President Trump, stop denying the foundation of our nation! We shall fight till the end!
