The Coalition to Save Historic Rahway River Park
Nov 2, 2015
Hello Fellow Supporters of our Park!
We had a very successful weekend in the park! Lots of new petition signers and many STOP THE STADIUM signs went out on lawns.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT TOMORROW IS ELECTION DAY AND WE ALL MUST VOTE COLUMN A TO SAVE THE PARK.
To remind everyone, or for new readers of our updates:
Because the sitting Freeholders are not listening to any reasonable compromise and are moving forward with the plan to ultimately destroy the park, we met with the challengers to their seats and we have agreed to vote Column A on November 3. We are asking you to come out and vote Column A on election day.
The Freeholder Board is nine seats, all held by Democrats, and they have absolutely no interest in discussing other more appropriate locations for the stadium or the feasibility of asking the public to pay taxes on a replica of the very same stadium which was installed in Warnaco Park last year, 2.4 miles down St. George Avenue.
If the Republicans take three seats on November 3, it signals to the three who are up for election next year, their seat is not secure if this stadium goes through. That can shift the balance for the future of the park. We don’t have a lot of options and voting Column A on Tuesday November 3 is very key in our fight to save the park.
