Save Post Office Services in Heelands

The Issue

Our current postmaster, who has served us with distinction for over 35 years, is retiring. The individual who was expected to take over the service has unfortunately withdrawn at the last moment. This means that our local post office will close its doors on Monday 29th April. As residents of Heelands and the wider community, we understand the importance of this facility in our daily lives and are deeply concerned about its impending closure.

The post office is not just a place to send and receive mail; it's a lifeline for many people in our community. It serves as a hub for social interaction and provides essential services such as banking and bill payments that many residents rely on daily.

The closest alternative Post Office provision whether in Great Linford, Two Mile Ash or the City Centre are all more than a mile and a half away from Heelands. This is simply too far for many local residents.

We urge Post Office Ltd., responsible for managing these facilities nationwide, to do everything possible to ensure continuity of service at Heelands Post Office. We also urge Milton Keynes City Council to do all it can to support these efforts as landlords of Swinden Court.

Please sign this petition if you agree that we need immediate action from Post Office Ltd., so no resident of Heelands has to face unnecessary hardship due to this closure.
