Update #6 Petition successfully delivered on Wednesday 23 September

Dear supporters,

The eagle has finally landed. On Wednesday 23 September, we have successfully delivered 3 copies of the Petition and the more than 8500 signatures to Premier Ben Carroll's electoral office in Niddrie (Melbourne)

In addition to the team at Save Port Phillip Bay, there is a growing number of environmental groups that have in some way supported our campaign. They include Environment Victoria, Friends of the Earth, the Australian Conservation Foundation, Sustainability Geelong, Renewables-not gas Geelong , Maribyrnong River Group, Mooney Valley Sustainability and even our friends at Save Westernport!  On behalf of the Save Port Phillip Bay team, I sincerely thank them for their support, it has made a big difference.

The handover is of course not the end of the matter. We need to continue following up with the relevant politicians, both in Government and cross bench MP’s to make sure the petition is acted upon. With the State Elections looming, it will be a very interesting few months.
