BREAKING NEWS! - "Once a Lake, always a Lake" - Karnataka High Court rules that Lake land tenure rights cannot be given to private individuals!

Keeping in line with legal precedents from across the country, the Karnataka High Court passed an order declaring that a land that is listed historically as a lake can never be granted away to private individuals. The court quashed a faulty land adjudication that granted 14 acres of lake area to encroachers, thus restoring the commons to the public commons. Congratulations to the State Govt and the citizens who fought for the rights of citizens, community and nature! An example to be emulated by all communities.
