Finally, it looks like the Lake and its buffer zone and the Rajakaluve and its buffer zone, are in safe hands for now...

Clarification by Dr T V Ramachandra on Lake Buffer Zone Laws:
A written clarification by Dr T V Ramachandra, of IISc, one of the foremost authorities on lakes in Bengaluru. He is a member of the Bellandur and Varthur Lake Committee set up by the National Green Tribunal. He clarifies that as per Wetland Rules, as also the operational NGT Orders, it is illegal to construct roads either in the Lake bed/bund or on the Lake Buffer Zone.

THE CONSPIRACY CONTINUES, WE NEED TO STAY ON GUARD!
The day after the Lakes Divn posted guards and halted work on the illegal road in the buffer zones, the BBMP Road Infrastructure Chief Engineer BS Prahallad issued a malicious and false statement in the Bangalore MIrror declaring that the lake is agricultural land 'as per records'.... How preposterous! Does he not have access to "the records" which are in the public domain, which show that the lake status quo has been restored by a Stay Order issued by the Hon Karnataka High Court, in a case in which the STATE itself is the petitioner?! While the state is working hard to save the lake, one of the state's own employees, the Road Infrastructure CE is working overtime to support encroachers, and destroy the lake? This is TREASON! Among other things, this action amounts to 'Contempt of Court', and a Breach of Public trust by a Public Servant, and may attract action under IPC sections I67, 218, 219, 409, 405, 116, 199, 415, 417, 420, 191, 192, 193, 196, 197, 198 ????
Some public servants forget their 'OATH OF ALLEGIANCE' and violate ethics and morals! Inexcusable! How can a public servant LIE Blatantly in Public?

As you can see, the vested interests keep working overtime, day and night. We made the mistake of taking it easy in 2018, when the Govt launched the case against the encroacher. We thought everything is taken care of, and we had nothing to fear.... But after the rude shocks since 2021, we are now wiser, and we know we cannot rest. We need to stay alert always, and work harder to keep the vested interests at bay!
