Big Shot in the arm for Whitefield Residents fighting for their Historic Lake!
Deeply disturbed by reports in the media on blatant violations of Lake Buffer Zone at Pattandur Agrahara Lake in Whitefield by BBMP, the celebrated Lake and Rajakaluve Warrior - Capt Santhosh KC visited location for an inspection, early morning on Tue, 21 Dec 2021. An army veteran who now battles to safeguard water security and has been freeing up Lakes and Rajakaluves from encroachment across districts.

After inspecting the damage by BBMP, and verifying the maps and documents, he called out the work as illegal - the integrity of the Lake Buffer Zone is not to be disturbed at any cost, as per all laws, NGT and court orders. He explains in great detail, the heritage of the lake, the history, the challenges faced by the lake, and other lakes in Bengaluru, and how the project is a violation of Orders passed by the Hon High Court of Karnataka and the Govt Orders. He makes a passionate case for preserving our heritage and the gifts bestowed by our ancient kings, for our well-being.
He made an impassioned please to protect the Lake Buffer Zone and not allow any construction here! He reminded us that our Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi has said he wouldn't allow anyone to play with the environment. He advises the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai to stop violations by BBMP Commissioner, and protect the Lake Buffer Zone of Pattandur Agrahara Lake 54!
Captain Says its a National Duty to protect our lakes, rajakaluves and environment!
Just as we need to guard the nation's borders from enemies, it is equally important to safeguard our neighbourhoods from enemies within, who destroy our environment! He says this is also a national duty, end every citizen should fight to save the environment.
