On the 25th of October 2021, Shri Aravind MLA of Mahadevapura constituency, was in our local ward Kadugodi, to hold a public meeting to review development works. Coincidentally, our petition crossed 5,000 signatures just that day!
We utilised this opportunity to print a hard copy of the petition and present it to him.
Besides, citizens brought up the various issues related to the lake multiple times in the meeting:
- The Illegal Road project violating buffer zone.
- Illegal buildings being constructed on the lake buffer zone.
The MLA directed officials present to take action against all illegal constructions in the Lake Buffer Zone.
He said he would respect public opinion against the road project, and if the public do not want it, it would not be implemented.
We hope to see the Road project cancelled and quashed from the RMP 2015 itself, as soon as possible.
We hope all the illegal constructions and encroachments both in the lake, as well as in the lake buffer zone are cleared soon!
