This through road has become dangerous due to reckless drivers who consistently exceed the speed limit, putting the lives of pedestrians and especially children and older people at risk. Current speed measuring fixtures have not worked for years. 

Personal Story:
Every day, my son and his friends cross Paget Street to reach school and other destinations. It's difficult to witness the speeding as they navigate this hazardous road. I worry about thought of any child in our community falling victim to an avoidable tragedy.

Current Situation:
Paget Street is unique in its lack of any speed reduction measures. Drivers frequently accelerate from Clare Road onto Paget Street at alarming speeds ranging from 40-60 mph. The absence of traffic calming measures such as crossings or speed bumps exacerbates this issue further.

To help secure investment in speed calming measures for Paget Street, we need to gather more evidence.

As the allocation of funding is based on evidence and across the whole of Cardiff, councillors have advised that any incidents of excessive and dangerous speeding should be reported to:

Continuous near misses and regular serious collisions have taken place and been been reported by residents. They have experienced first hand the encounters with speeding vehicles on Paget Street. We cannot emphasise enough that it is only a matter of time before a child falls victim to these reckless driving practices if no action is taken promptly.

Urgently request local authorities and relevant stakeholders take immediate action and the use evidence gathered and by implementing safety measures on Paget Street:
