When you sign a petition like this one, it’s not just a signature. We may never reach 1,000 but I never thought we would see 200 either. I just didn't know but every signature is sending a message to Council, to the fire department, the police and most importantly the residents, that no matter the quantity of people within a town's borders, people care about the quality of the people and Portland has a ton of quality people that will be affected by this. Every signature energizes us to work harder and smarter to stop them. So many questions raised at the public meeting went unanswered and were met with blank stares. I personally don’t see how this can happen with all the facts we have highlighted but I do think the parties involved thought it would happen quietly and without any kind of outcry in a “sleepy” little town but I assure you, Portland is now wide awake. I will print and send the petition, the signatures and the comments at 350-400 signatures and again with each milestone we get to so PLEASE keep signing, keep sharing and keep caring. This is just one of many ways to help stop this from happening and to me, the voice of everyday people can be the most important! Thanks again!
