Petition updateSave Our Red Squirrels: Enforce Protection Laws and Protect UK Woodland HabitatThis Easter, help us reach 75,000 voices

This Easter, I’m focusing on one simple goal: taking the Save Our Reds campaign to 75,000 supporters, and then on to 80,000 and beyond.

In 1876, a small number of grey squirrels were introduced into Britain. At the time, there were around 3.5 million red squirrels across the UK. Today, that number has fallen to just 140,000 to 160,000.

Red squirrels are now at crisis point in mainland Britain.

Little Red is part of that story. A small book with a big message: to help people, young and old, connect with an iconic woodland species that could disappear from England within the next decade - without further concerted action.

To help spread the message more widely, I’m giving away two copies of Little Red this Easter.

To enter, simply answer the question below and email hello@saveourreds.uk with your name and address.

Question: why are grey squirrels deadly to red squirrels?
(Hint: the answer can be found at saveourreds.uk)

The competition closes on Sunday 12th April at midnight. Winners will be chosen after next weekend.

We’ve also reduced the price of Little Red to £6.50 to help the message travel further - the price will be reflected shortly once Amazon’s systems update.

At £6.50 per book, I make around 1p per copy after Amazon’s printing and distribution costs. This has never been about profit. It’s about reaching as many people as possible with a story that matters.

And don’t forget to add a new date to the diary: On Friday 15th May, we’ll mark the first ever 'Save Our Reds Day', tied in with Endangered Species Day, which takes place on the third Friday in May. This will be a moment to come together, raise awareness, and push this campaign even further.

Most importantly this Easter, let’s take the campaign beyond 75,000 together!
