Hello again, this is Lucy here again.
I posted an update two days ago and in that time we have gained 100 signs. We are only 12 off 500 at the time of writing .This is amazing. If people can just keep sharing and posting this everywhere that'd be amazing. If you know that a school nearby has students that go to this park, let them know about the development idea. Chances are they'll put it in their assembly. Put posters up and around the park to let as many people walking by know. If you want to, feel free to start a twitter account and tag as many local mp's and decision makers as possible. Awareness is the most important thing right now!
I would also like to tell you that Reading Borough Council has stated that this playground, green space and equipment are underutilised land. This is so untrue as anyone has ever walked past this park on a hot summers day would know.
Also, in the discussion/news area of this petition, feel free to let me know names of decision makers and their contact details. I'll add them to the petition, which means they get emailed every time we hit a milestone.
Another announcement, the Facebook page posted a link to this petition . This petition is for saving all parks and will possibly go to parliament. If we win this petition, as well as saving the park, £30 a year, per household will go to funding for parks, as well as the banning of development on parkland and parks being maintained regularly.
Anyways, once again, thanks a lot for almost 500 signs! Keep spreading the word, keep an eye on the facebook page and I'll add another update soon.
