Adding new housing, especially affordable housing, to our beach neighborhoods is welcome. However, building in our coastal zone must be done right.  This means there needs to be strict building height limits that protect ocean views. There also should be measures to preserve street parking, which serves as beach access parking.

The current zoning amendment before the Coastal Commission undermines these attributes. It should be sent back for revision.
