Save Our Neighborhood – Act Now on 905 7th Ave Development
A 100-unit housing project is moving forward at 7th Ave & Brommer in Live Oak. If you live anywhere near this area, this will impact you directly.
This is happening now, and this is the window for community input before plans are finalized.
This is not about opposing housing.
It is about protecting the quality of life for the people who already live here.
Why this affects you
If you live, drive, or spend time in this area, you already feel it:
• Traffic is already overwhelming — it can take 20 minutes to go half a mile from the beach
• 7th Ave is a main route for residents, commuters, and beach traffic
• Street parking is already limited
Now imagine adding hundreds of additional daily trips into the same corridor.
For homeowners, this also means:
• Loss of privacy and increased noise right outside your home
• Reduced sunlight and changes to the feel of your property
• Increased congestion on your street and at your driveway
• Long-term impact on the livability and character of the neighborhood
This project introduces an apartment-style development into an area that currently serves as a natural transition space between homes and surrounding open land.
That raises a simple question: does this level of density truly fit this location?
What this space could be
This space has the potential to serve the community in a way that aligns with how the area is already used:
• A place for gathering
• Walking and biking paths
• Open space to enjoy the outdoors
• A connection to the surrounding natural environment
This type of use fits the location.
A dense, apartment-style structure does not.
What we are asking for
• A more reasonable scale of development
• Preservation of the natural landscape and oak trees
• No large apartment-style buildings
• Nothing over 2 stories near existing homes
• Adequate setbacks and real privacy buffers
• Smarter placement of access roads
• Real consideration of existing traffic conditions
Take action now
We are gathering signatures to bring these concerns directly to County leadership.
If you care about your home, your street, and your daily quality of life, now is the time to speak up.
