In 2019 Havering introduced a continuity of care team of midwives, which have supported hundreds of families in Upminster and Cranham. These ladies have given 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support their patients. Whether it’s a 2am phone call for reassurance, or running to a car park to deliver a baby. 

Pregnancy can be a daunting experience, but from the moment you meet the team you have continuous support. To see the same friendly face(s) from your booking in appointment, to delivery and postpartum is reassuring and what every pregnant women deserves.

Whilst all midwives are fantastic, the personal touch which the Upminster and Cranham midwives provide is an unforgettable experience which lasts a life time. You are never made to feel a burden, nothing is ever too much for the girls. 

Support through pregnancy is minimal and the support postpartum is close to non-existent. But after going through the physically intensive process of labour or a c section, women need to be supported. Even more so during covid measures. A friendly face makes all the difference, which is what Upminster and Cranham Midwives provide. 

Unfortunately Havering are dispersing the team, which will leave many mums-to-be vulnerable and without the support. It is also disregarding all the fantastic work this amazing team has provided!!
